Changes in Joint Power and Energetics during a Sport-Specific Jumping Fatigue Protocol

چکیده
Kinematic and kinetic changes in the lower extremities occur as an athlete becomes fatigued during vertical jumping; however, specifics of these are not well-understood. Therefore, purpose this study was to quantify influence a sport-specific, jumping fatigue protocol on biomechanics ankle, knee, hip joint. Twenty male varsity athletes performed repetitive standing countermovement squat jumps every 20 s until (vertical jump reach height decreased 88% their maximum for three consecutive jumps). The kinematics kinetics (ankle, hip) were quantified, joint’s moments, angular velocity, joint power compared. participants average 175 before they classified being fatigued. When became fatigued, peak ankle joints substantially reduced due decrease velocity at both joints. Ankle moments unchanged. Peak knee also unchanged over course protocol. To maintain performance game or delay fatigue, training should be targeted maintaining

Sport Surfaces in Show Jumping
Properties of sport surfaces influence the occurrence of injuries and the performance of equine athletes. The sports governing body seeks to develop standards for safety and performance of show jumping surfaces. Limited information is available to guide this process. Objective methods are warranted in order to define surface properties that can be associated to injury and performance data. Desc...
متن کاملJoint-specific power production during submaximal and maximal cycling.
UNLABELLED Separate authors have reported that knee extension dominates power production during submaximal cycling (SUB(cyc)) and hip extension is the dominant action during maximal cycling (MAX(cyc)). Changes in joint-specific powers across broad ranges of net cycling powers (P(net)) within one group of cyclists have not been reported. PURPOSE Our purpose was to determine the extent to which...
متن کاملComparison of the kinematic pattern of knee joint flexion in healthy and genu Valgum and genu Varum children during jumping
Introduction & Objectives: genu valgum and genu varum are considered as the most common abnormalities of the knee joint in the lower extremity. Identifying of the mentioned abnormalities in the early stages of life can prevent the occurrence of later problems in the physical condition of a person's life. Therefore, the aim of the present study was to compare the kinematic pattern of knee joint ...
متن کاملEffect of Soccer Specific Functional Fatigue On hip and knee Joints Kinematics In professional players during Landing
The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of soccer specific functional fatigue on hip and knee joints angles during landing in professional players.15 soccer players with at least 2 years experience in Kerman soccer clubs were selected randomly. To evaluate the lower extremity kinematics following jumping and soccer specific- heading, three cameras (with50Hz) were used. To cau...
متن کاملChanges in joint coupling and variability during walking following tibialis posterior muscle fatigue
BACKGROUND The tibialis posterior muscle is believed to play a key role in controlling foot mechanics during the stance phase of gait. However, an experiment involving localised tibialis posterior muscle fatigue, and analysis of discrete rearfoot and forefoot kinematic variables, indicated that reduced force output of the tibialis posterior muscle did not alter rearfoot and forefoot motion duri...
